Six criteria narrow the field from 8 kits down to 1–2 genuine matches for your bike and riding style.
The single most important filter. Shimano EP801 owners have only two safe options (Eplus Flash or PearTune 3.0). DJI Avinox requires PearTune MSO. All others have wider choice.

Eplus Flash and Wiesel are the stealthiest choices. Eplus leaves no hardware at all — invisible at any dealer service. Wiesel's 20×10 mm chip is virtually undetectable internally.
From £89 (Eplus Flash software) to £239 (SpeedBox premium B.Tuning). SimpleK is the most affordable hardware kit. Wiesel and RedPed sit at the premium end with premium features.

Fitting a tuning kit reclassifies an electric bike as a moped (L1e category). On public roads: registration, insurance and an approved motorcycle helmet are mandatory. Under the Highway Act 1988 and EAPC Regulations, an electric bike must not provide assistance beyond 15.5 mph on public roads.
