Bosch Smart System: keeping detection risk low

The Bosch Smart System (BES3) runs more sophisticated anti-tampering logic than older Bosch generations. Three steps to keep detection risk minimal with any Smart System chip:

• Disable auto-updates in eBike Flow — a Bosch OTA update can disable or conflict with installed tuning chips. Always check the kit manufacturer's compatibility note before applying any firmware update.
• Avoid excessive assisted speeds — the system logs anomalous speed events; staying within a reasonable range above the assist cut-off reduces the chance of flagged log entries.
• Remove before dealer visits — if your bike needs warranty work at a Bosch dealer, remove the chip beforehand and allow a reset period before the appointment.
